CM Dr. Manik Saha seeks cooperation for combating drug menace

AGARTALA:

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday appealed to the clubs and social organisations to contribute towards combating drug menace.

Addressing a blood donation camp here at Yuva Samaj Club in Agartala on Sunday, Dr. Saha claimed that a significant change has come to the club culture in the state and blamed the previous Left front government to allege that earlier the clubs were associated with negativity. Saha also accused the then Left Front government of destroying society and the youth.

He continued blaming the previous government and further alleged, “During the last 35 years rule of the Left front government in Tripura the state was drowned under drug menace, where the youths were heavily involved.”

“The present government is working ruthlessly against drugs taking strict actions following which many people were arrested. Clubs should collaborate with the police and government to combat this issue,” he claimed, adding that it is essential for all to join hands in eradicating the drug menace, as clubs play a crucial role in solving societal problems.
