CM Dr. Manik Saha stresses on more awareness to prevent Diabetes

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Saturday inaugurated the 1st annual meeting of the North-Eastern Diabetes Society Tripura Chapter here at Agartala and said that there is a need of generating more awareness in prevention of the Diabetes disease.

The Chief Minister claimed that with the advancement of health science, there is vast possibility of prevention of the Diabetes disease. Through the advancement of science, many methods have been discovered to protect people from diabetes, he said.

The Chief Minister however underlined the need of physical exercises and said that people should give importance to regular exercise, yoga and walking. The Chief Minister said that the number of diabetic patients is increasing continuously in the state.

The state government is working seriously to provide better treatment for diabetes related diseases in various health centers of the state, he said, adding that one of the goals of the government is to provide health services to the last person in the society.

The Secretary of the Department of Health Dr. Debashish Basu, senior member of the North-Eastern Diabetes Society in Guwahati Dr. Pranab Kumar Biswas and the eminent doctors of the state were present in the programme.
