With the end of the Bengali’s grand festival – Durga Puja, Tripura now prepares for the biggest idol immersion festival – ‘Mayer Gaman’. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will inaugurate the carnival on Thursday in presence of the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor Dipak Majumder and other cabinet ministers here at Agartala.
The carnival will feature tableaux of Durga Idols from various puja organizers and clubs in Agartala, which will be carried to Agartala Dashamighat for immersion of their Durga idols moving across the capital town of Agartala.
AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder accompanied by his officials visited the official inauguration site of the carnival here at Agartala City centre to take stock of the preparation. He hoped that a large number of clubs and other social organisations would participate in the Carnival.
