Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday chaired a meeting with the officials of health department and Agartala Government Dental College to review the progress of the dental college here at Agartala.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister Dr Saha urged the officials to adhere the rules and guidelines of Dental Council of India (DCI) for the overall improvement of the Agartala Government Dental College.
Multiple issues including the infrastructural development of Agartala Government Dental College including faculty recruitment in various departments, the current status of the college building under PM-Divine project, construction of 250 seated boys and girls hostel, admission of students from economically weaker sections, and others were discussed in the meeting.
In the meeting the Chief Minister directed the officials to mandate PRTC for recruitment of candidates to various posts. He said that if no qualified candidate is available in the state, provision should be made for exemption in case of PRTC.
Secretary of the health department, Kiran Gitte, discussed in detail about the infrastructure of the Agartala Government Dental College.
Agartala Government Dental College Principal Professor (Dr.) Shalu Rai, Agartala Government Medical College Principal (In-charge) Dr Tapan Majumder, Director of Tripura Health Service Dr Sanjib Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital Shankar Chakraborty and others were present in the meeting.
