Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today lauded the role of Tripura Police in maintaining the law and order situation in the state.
CM Dr Saha today performed at Bhumi Pujan which was held near the Secretariat today for setting up new building of Tripura Police headquarters.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, Additional Director General Saurabh Tripathi, IGP, AIGP, West District Superintendent of Police Shankar Debnath and other officers and jawans of various forces participated in this event organized by the Arksha administration.
Earlier, when Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha arrived at the venue, he was presented a guard of honor by TSR 6th and 7th Battalion soldiers led by Sudarshan Das, Assistant Commandant of TSR 7th Battalion.
Unveiling the plaque after Bhoomi Puja, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha told reporters that there was a need to build the state police headquarters.
“At present, where the state police head office is located; there was no space for the various departments. Capital Complex will be the headquarters of the state police on a large scale. 1 acre land is given here. More land will be needed. The state government will provide more land as per the rules. The chief minister said that the role of the state police in maintaining law and order is commendable. Tripura Police is in no way inferior to other states of the country”, he said.
Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan told reporters that a state-of-the-art police headquarters will be constructed in the Capital Complex. NBCC and Tripura Housing and Construction Board will be responsible for the construction work.
