In a recent address at a state-level workshop focusing on IT and Social Media, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha criticized Congress leaders, labeling them as 'dramatists' and accusing them of pursuing personal gain within the political arena.
Dr. Saha highlighted the positive progress of the Northeast region under the leadership of various Chief Ministers, emphasizing that the region has now become an integral part of the nation's mainstream. He criticized past governments for employing a divide-and-rule strategy that marginalized the Northeast but noted that significant strides have been made in recent times.
Taking a veiled swipe at Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, Dr. Saha cautioned against taking heed of what he termed as theatrical statements. He compared certain Congress individuals to frequent party-switching 'cockroaches,' implying their motives revolve around personal gain rather than the welfare of the public. He asserted that these politicians had joined politics primarily for their own interests and not for the betterment of society. He quipped that their flair for drama could secure them roles in the entertainment industry hub, Mumbai.
Dr. Saha acknowledged the limited options available to the public and explained that some align with the Congress due to it being the sole alternative to the CPIM. However, he pointed out that the Congress is associated with disorder, while the CPIM has a history marked by coercive tactics, electoral manipulation, sexual assault, and violence. He criticized both parties for their questionable political practices, referencing the dark periods of the Emergency during the Congress era and the CPIM's tenure.
In essence, Dr. Saha's address highlighted the ongoing political landscape and his perspective on the Congress party, portraying them as opportunistic dramatists who prioritize personal interests over public welfare.
