Special Secretary of the Education Department, Ravel Hemendra Kumar today said that Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha will inaugurate the 51st State-level Children's Science Exhibition tomorrow which will continue until February 3.
He said that the event, organized by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), will take place at Maharani Tulsibati Higher Secondary Girls' School.
“Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha is set to formally inaugurate the two-day exhibition, which carries the theme 'Science and Technology for Social Welfare.' A diverse array of topics, including health, agriculture, communication and transport, eco-friendly lifestyle, and constructive thinking, will be explored under this overarching concept. To generate awareness about the exhibition and promote a millet-based diet, a lively procession featuring students from various schools in Agartala took place today. During the exhibition, attendees can engage in awareness talks on the benefits of a millet diet, participate in science and environment discussion cycles, join debates, quiz competitions, and enjoy cultural events”, he said.
He said that selected students and associate students from each district, totaling five from every district in the state, will present innovative models at the exhibition.
“The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, is actively supporting the Sakura Science High School Program by the Japan Science and Technology Agency. Notably, three students from Tripura, namely Mohammed Khurshid Alam, Madhurima Das, and Shakil Saha, have been invited to participate in the Sakura program in Japan. This initiative aims to foster scientific curiosity and collaboration among high school students”, he said.
