Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb launched a scathing attack on the CPI(M), asserting that Communism is a system designed to ruin the future of youth and women.
Speaking at a BJP party program in Bishalgarh under Sepahijala district on Sunday, Deb accused the Communists of thriving on divisive politics.
"Communists only know how to divide people along religious and caste lines. That’s why I always warn people whenever I visit Tripura—Communism is a machine that destroys youth and women. They never let young people become self-sufficient and never allow women to work. We cannot let the ghost of Communism return. Any other party may come to power, but we must not give even an inch of land to Communists. They turn people against their own country and families—that's their tradition," said Deb.
The BJP leader further claimed that he has tamed the ‘ghost of Communism’ and confined it within a jar, preventing it from resurfacing.
"Because of some missteps by our karyakartas, Communists got a fresh lease of life. We must not repeat this mistake. Why should Communists have any political space in Tripura? In their 35 years of rule, they backed the UPA government but failed to bring a single manufacturing unit to the state. Today, a youth from Bishalgarh has achieved what they couldn’t. Communists follow their own rules, their own Constitution, but they neither support nor abide by the Indian Constitution. Whenever they find themselves in trouble, they pretend to uphold it," he added.
Highlighting economic progress under the BJP-led government, Deb pointed out that the per capita income in Tripura has witnessed a significant rise since 2018, contrasting it with the situation under the CPI(M) regime.
