Congress preparing to take on BJP in LS poll; seeks CPI-M’s support

AGARTALA:

The former minister of the ruling BJP and presently the Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman on Wednesday said that the party is preparing for the ensuing Lok Sabha election to take on the BJP and its misrule across the nation.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala Congress Bhavan, Barman said, “Although we are waiting to abide by the decision of the I.N.D.I.A bloc, but still, we seek support of the CPI-M in Tripura and other oppositions to take on the BJP in the ensuing LS Poll.”

“We understood the gravity of the assembly polls in which the CPI-M fought in more seats than the Congress. Even in the by-election to two seats- Dhanpur and Boxangar- the CPI-M put up candidates," Roy Barman told reporters.

He said, “I wish the CPI-M to extend support to the Congress in the parliamentary elections to defeat the BJP. The Congress can't sacrifice all the time.”
