Congress protests Tripura Human Rights Commission’s inaction on growing crimes in Tripura

AGARTALA:

The opposition Congress party on Saturday accused the Tripura Human Rights Commission of its inaction in incidents of crime taking place in the state of Tripura.

The party activists on Saturday staged a protest infront of the commission office and covered the office signboard with a black flag as part of their protest.

Agitating the inaction of the commission, the party activists alleged that the human rights commission which was supposed to be the pillar of justice has been playing a role of silent spectator, when the heinous incidents of crimes like killing and atrocities on women are increasing at an alarming rate in the state.

Meanwhile, the congressmen said that at a time when such incidents are increasing and happening almost on a regular basis, the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha went on to claim that the state is safe and secure.
