CPI-M accuses TIPRA Moth of ADC crisis; opposes ‘bandh’ on Sep 30

AGARTALA:

The CPI-M on Sunday opposed the 12-hour ADC ‘bandh’ on September 30 called by the opposition TIPRA Motha party and said that the bandh to put pressure on the Centre is not necessary when the Union Home Ministry, according to the former Motha Chairman Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman is positive towards their demand for constitutional solution for Tiprasas.

Addressing a press conference here at the party office on Sunday, the Left front convenor Narayan Kar questioned, “When Pradyot himself claimed that the Union Home Ministry and the minister Amit Shah is positive towards their demand, then what is the need of putting pressure on the Centre over the demand of Greater Tipraland and constitutional solution for Tiprasas.”

“Pradyot, who created high expectations among the tribals in Tripura is trying to switch over the mind of the tribals from the fact that TIPRA Motha is facing a major setback with acute crisis in the ADC,” Kar told reporters.

He alleged, “The tribals are being deprived at large in Tripura under the rule of this TIPRA Motha and BJP-led coalition government, while the ADC is reeling under acute crisis of basic infrastructural development.”
