CPI(M) calls secular forces to intensify movement against oppression on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh

AGARTALA:

Responding to the recent incident of arrest of Hindu priest and ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das at Bangladesh, the opposition CPI(M) on Thursday called the secular minded forces to intensify movement against the ongoing oppression on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.

“In the name of change, the present government of Bangladesh is saying that Pakistan is their good friend and that relations must be built with them. This is highly condemnable. No one can insult the pictures of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other freedom fighters who made Bangladesh a sovereign nation,” said CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury on Thursday.

He said, “I would appeal to the people who are secular to launch a movement to change the present government in Bangladesh.” He also said that when an autocracy develops attacks on the minorities become inevitable. Bangladesh is experiencing the same, he added.
