The opposition CPI(M) state secretary and MLA Jitendra Chaudhury demanded for expansion of health infrastructure at Sabroom in South Tripura district.
Addressing a letter to the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday, Chaudhury stated, “Sabroom town is emerging soon as an important international destination, following the inauguration of Indo-Bangla Maitree Setu, hence expansion of health infrastructures has become very essential beside other services.”
The CPI(M) MLA pressed for a 7-point charter of demands in his letter to the Chief Minister. The demand includes – Opening of a Fast Referral Unit in Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital, appointment of MD(Medicines) in Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital, appointment of Anesthesiologist and Sonologist, at least 1(One) each, in Sabroom Divisional Hospital that Gynecological operation could be started soon, operationalization of the Blood Bank in Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital for which infrastructure is already in place, up-gradation of the Manughat PHC at Ratanmani/Betaga ADC Village as 24X7 Hospital considering its remoteness and dire needs, up-gradation of Bankul PHC as Community Hospital which deserves for its geographical location and size of population and up-gradation of Srinagar PHC as Community Hospital, as it is the only Hospital in entire Poang Bari R.D. Block area.
Chaudhury however sought the intervention of the Chief Minister, who also holds the health portfolio and demanded for upgradation of the health infrastructure in Sabroom.
