The decomposed body of a missing youth, Roni Laskar, was recovered from an abandoned house in Brahmanpara's Khejur Bagan area yesterday late night, sparking shock and concern among locals. The family of the deceased has alleged that Roni was killed in a planned manner, though the cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
Roni, who went missing on the night of November 6, had left his home to watch Chhat Puja. He failed to return, prompting his family to launch a search for him. Despite their efforts, there was no sign of him until two days later, when they filed a missing person report at the NCC police station on November 8.
The discovery of Roni's body came on November 9 when local residents, noticing a foul odor emanating from an abandoned property belonging to Nepal Biswas, investigated the area. They found Roni’s decomposed body in the boundary of the property and immediately informed the authorities.
Police rushed to the scene, recovering the body and sending it to the hospital for a post-mortem examination. While the cause of death remains undetermined, family members are adamant that Roni's death was not accidental, suspecting it to be the result of a planned murder.
The police have initiated an investigation and registered a case of unusual death. They have assured the public that further details will be disclosed after the post-mortem report is received.
