The Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi on Wednesday arrived here at Agartala on her three-day visit to the state and said that without the development of the North-East region, the country cannot be developed further.
On her arrival, the Union Minister on Wednesday visited the Agartala Integrated Land Port and interacted with BSF and BGB jawans.
Later, responding to the queries of the reporters here at Agartala, the Union Minister said, “Union Ministers are visiting various states of the North Eastern region at different times in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for 'Act East', 'Neighbourhood First' policies.”
“According to the Prime Minister, the development of the entire country is not possible without the development of the North Eastern region. If there is peace and harmony in the North East, it will be good for the whole country,” she told reporters.
Tripura drug peddlers maintained interstate network to facilitate trafficking, reveal officials
