A major breakthrough in the fight against narcotics was achieved today when the Airport Police Station conducted a successful raid based on a secret tip-off seizing over narcotics worth Rs 4 lakh.
Led by SDPO NCC Subrata Barman and OC Abhijit Mandal, the operation uncovered a significant haul of illegal drugs from the property of a notorious drug dealer, Arjun Biswas, in the Paschim Narayanpur area.
The raid, targeting a cowshed on Biswas's premises, yielded 390 bottles of Esckuf and Phensidyl cough syrup as well as 18 kg of dried marijuana. The seized narcotics are estimated to have a market value of Rs 4 lakh, according to SDPO Subrata Barman.
"Acting on specific intelligence, we conducted the raid and successfully seized the contraband. However, the primary accused, Arjun Biswas, managed to flee before our arrival," SDPO Barman stated during a press briefing.
