To eliminate discrepancies and ensure that the benefits reach the rightful recipients, the crucial e-KYC process of ration card holders residing under the AMC areas will be completed by December this year, said food and civil supplies minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday.
The minister chaired a departmental review meeting here at Agartala Pragna Bhavan.
During the meeting, the minister said that in addition to the e-KYC process, the government will soon launch an Aadhar enabled Public Distribution system across the state and it will be implemented by the year 2025 next. He said that the National Informatics Centre will assist the government in implementing the process.
The food minister said that according to the new rules, the ration dealers should collect the ration materials between the 5th and 7th of every month as per the government directives, aiming to protect the interests of the buyers. So that the beneficiaries can get the ration material at the right time. He directed the food inspectors to keep an eye on the matter. A district wise calendar with commodity price chart will be prepared soon for commodity prices for state markets, he said.
