e-Rupee payment system has been started in the state to simplify and speed up the process of providing boarding house stipends, enunciated Tribal Welfare Minister Rampada Jamatia said after launching e-Rupee payment system in a programme organized by Tribal Welfare department at the conference hall at the Secretariat today.
After launching e-Rupee payment system, the Tribal Welfare Minister said, the e-Rupee payment system has been launched in our state for the first time today in the country to provide boarding house stipends. As a result, a new history of the state has been created today. The Prime Minister of India has launched different digital systems all over the country to build corruption-free India including cashless transaction, paperless administration etc. The e-Rupee payment system has been launched as a part of this. e-Rupee payment system is a transparent process which is completely safe and easy. About 31 thousand families of the state will be added to the system in the first phase. Besides, the students will be able to gain knowledge regarding digital technology from school level itself.
Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha said, e-Rupee payment system will prove to be very convenient for everyone, especially for students residing in hostels. This is a cashless process which is completely safe. This process will be easy for everyone including teachers, students, guardians and hostel superintendents. Initiatives have to be taken to generate awareness among the students regarding e-Rupee. The Chief Secretary directed the officials of the Tribal Welfare department to conduct workshop with teachers, students, guardians and hostel superintendents to avoid any kind of misunderstanding among the students regarding this process.
Secretary of Tribal Welfare department L. T. Darlong said, different kinds of problems have been arising in terms of providing boarding house stipend. The problem of boarding house stipend has been solved and simplified as a result of launching the e-Rupee payment system. Students will be benefitted through this. Representatives of National Payment Corporation of India, Punjab National Bank and NIC were also present in the programme.
Other dignitaries present in the programme were Principal Secretary of Revenue department Puneet Agarwal, Secretary of Education Department Saradindu Choudhury, Secretary of Industry & Commerce department Abhishek Chandra and other high-ranking officials of Tribal Welfare department.
