Election for the students's council of Agartala Government Medical College held today after long 5 years.
Speaking on the issue, Dr. Abhijit Datta, Returning Officer, Election Committee for students' council election,2023 A.G.M.C said that every year student council formation took place at Agartala Government Medical College as per the guideline of the National Medical Commission. But due to COVID it could not be arranged for last 4 years.
“Following the rules the election of 2023-24 for the student council was held today. In which President, Vice president, and many other posts are there who all will be selected for the one year”, he said.
He further informed that in this election total voters were 502 while 471 persons have casted their vote.
“In the election Abdul Halim elected as President, Vice President is Aman Debbarma, Ayan Sarkar elected as General Secretary, Abhijit Das is Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer is Debasish Jamatia, the Sports Secretary is Bappi Debbarma, Literary Secretary is Mandeep Deb, in and Cultural Secretary is Shibjoy Deb”, he told reporters.
He also said that voting was also held to elect the class representatives (boy & girl).
