Internal rifts have emerged within the ruling BJP in Tripura, as former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday voiced concerns about the interference of ‘outsiders’ in party affairs in a move to weaken the party’s organization.
Deb highlighted the frequent interference of external individuals weakening the party's organization in the state.
Deb has already informed the central leadership about these issues and emphasized the need for close collaboration between the party and the government.
Expressing displeasure, Deb who is also an MP from the Rajya Sabha seat in Tripura told reporters this afternoon that he has faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose guidance the BJP government has secured a second consecutive term in the state.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, BJP came for the second time. I have worked with loyalty to make Tripura communist free which people have seen. This government is a government of development. Our party is a discipline party but I have observed one thing very frequently a section of outsiders are constantly interfering in party affairs. They are working to weaken the party’s organization in the state. I have informed all these matters to our central leadership. Party and the government in the state should progress in close collaboration”, said Deb.
He further said that BJP is a party that listens to all its workers and hoped that his concerns will also be resolved soon under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
When questioned about the identity of the outsiders, Deb refrained himself from revealing the identity of the outsiders.
