A daring robbery took place in Gobindapur Gram Panchayat under Churaibari in North District, where a house was reportedly looted at gunpoint.

According to reports, Sadhan Deb, a resident of the area, went to sleep as usual with his two children last night. However, around 2:30 AM, a gang of 7-8 armed robbers stormed into his house by breaking down the door with a sledgehammer.
“The robbers held a gun to me and my son, Sagar Deb, while they ransacked my house. Meanwhile, my daughter, who was in the next room, was physically assaulted by the criminals. The miscreants looted cash amounting to Rs 73,300 and half a kilogram of gold ornaments from the cupboard. They also fled with three mobile phones,” he alleged.
Following the incident, Sadhan stated that the robbers mercilessly beat him and his children before fleeing the scene.
Upon receiving the information, police teams from Churaibari, Kadamtala, and Dharmanagar police stations rushed to the spot.
Senior police officials, including North District Superintendent of Police, IPS Avinash Rai, and Additional Superintendent of Police, J. Darlong, also visited the crime scene to assess the situation.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Jeremia Darlong, said, “Soon after we received information about the incident, Tripura Police rushed to the spot. The SP also visited the place of occurrence. What we have learned is that some people entered the house in the early hours and looted money and jewelry. The victims have claimed that the assailants were armed with rifles. However, we have launched an investigation.”
