A group of frustrated job seekers, aspiring to join the fire service, staged a protest outside the official residence of the Chief Minister today, demanding the immediate release of the long-pending results for the fire service written exam conducted over a year ago.
The protest, organized by candidates who participated in the fire service recruitment exam in December 2022, highlighted the disappointment and anguish caused by the extended delay in announcing the results. The recruitment drive, initiated in April 2022, aimed to fill 304 positions for firemen and 25 for drivers.
After successfully clearing a rigorous physical examination, 1476 candidates proceeded to the written phase in December. However, despite the passage of a year, the results remain undisclosed, leaving the aspiring firefighters in a state of uncertainty and despair
Protestors, which included candidates who have repeatedly sought information from ministers regarding the delayed results, gathered outside the Chief Minister's residence hoping for clarity.
However, their attempts to meet with the Chief Minister were foiled by the police, leaving them disappointed and compelled to disperse without any answers.
The visibly disheartened job seekers expressed frustration at the lack of communication and transparency regarding the status of the results. They now find themselves in limbo, anxiously awaiting the publication of the written exam results that will determine their fate and employment prospects.
