Four held with cannabis of Rs 4 lakh while smuggled it outside the state

The Tripura Police have arrested four youths and seized cannabis worth Rs. 4 lakh from Teliamura in the Khowai District as they were en route to smuggling it to outside of the state.

Speaking with reporters, Officer-In-Charge of Teliamura Police Station, Rajib Debnath, stated that the police apprehended four youths while they were smuggling 30 kg of cannabis using an auto towards Teliamura Railway Station late last night.

"Four youths arrived at Teliamura railway station late Sunday night in an auto, intending to smuggle the cannabis to using the Rani Kamalavati Express. Upon receiving the tip-off, we detained the auto and conducted a search. During the operation, 30 kg of cannabis was recovered from the bags of the four individuals. The approximate market value of which is four lakh rupees," he said.

He further identified the arrested individuals as Rahul Das, Gopesh Debnath, Raju Das, and Shantu Das.
