The state transport minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday inaugurated a mega blood donation camp here at Agartala, organised by the Radhanagar Motorstand Development Society and urged upon the people of all walks of life to fulfil their social responsibility by donating blood. Over 100 people donated blood in this mega blood donation camp held here on Friday.
Inaugurating the blood donation camp, Transport Minister Sushant Chowdhury also called for mass blood donation to mitigate the shortfall of blood in the state as per the requirement and demand.
Highlighting the achievement of the government, the minister said that since 2014, there has been an unprecedented development in the state's road, rail and air communication systems. Multiple steps have already been taken to introduce water transport systems.
He further said that the role of the owners and workers associated with the transport system is undeniable in making the transport system stronger and better. The minister also called for ending drug menace in the state and said that along with the government, the conscious citizens of societies should also come forward to end drug menace.
Chairman of Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC) Balai Goswami, Agartala Road Transport Corporation Mayor-in-Council Hiralal Debnath, Corporator Santana Saha, Tripura Road Transport Corporation MD Uttam Mondal, SP of the state Traffic Department Manik Das, and others were present in the programme.
