On the third day of G-20 Summit, the delegates of G-20 have visited various tourist spots after performing yoga this morning.
The representatives of the G-20 countries who came to Agartala to attend the Science-20 conference visited Oxygen Park at Gandhigram at around 6:30 am today.
PCCF KS Shetty, Special Secretary of Industry and Commerce Department Abhishek Chandra, Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Department PK Chakraborty were present to welcome them there. West District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan and various officials of the Forest Departments were also present.
The guests first offered floral tributes to Martyrs Column and were then shown around different parts of the park.
Forest department officials explained the context and various aspects of Oxygen Park. They were shown the traditional forms of various tribal communities in Tripura. They toured the orchidarium as well. Later they finally participated in a yoga session and planted agar tree saplings in a tree plantation event.
Then at 10.30 am the G-20 representatives visited Purbasha. Balai Goswami, chairman of Tripura Handloom and Handicrafts Industry Development Corporation, welcomed them there. A cultural program was also organized in their honor at Purbasha Complex. The guests then browsed the stalls there.
The delegation of G-20 member countries participating in the G-20 Science Summit visited also Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary today afternoon. During the visit they visited different areas of the sanctuary. The delegation later attended lunch at the sanctuary's rest house premises. During the visit to the sanctuary, officials of various levels of the forest department and Sepahijala district administration were present with them. The members of the delegation visited Neermahal this evening. The delegation was accompanied by MLA Kishore Barman and officials of various departments during their visit to Neermahal.
