Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday officially launched the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign through a series of events here at Agartala to encourage the citizens of the state to display the national flag at their homes on the occasion of Independence Day celebration.
CM Dr Saha participated in a Tiranga rally on Tuesday morning at Umakanta Ground in Agartala. The rally was joined by the government officials, students from different schools and other walks of life. A vibrant procession was held here in the capital city, with the participants proudly carrying the tricolour.
Later addressing programme, organised by the state education department here at Agartala on Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr Saha stressed on the significance of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and said that under the direction of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022 the campaign was first launched to encourage the citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes to show respect to the freedom fighters and all who laid their lives for the country’s independence.
He said, “In the year 2022 last when the Har Ghar Tiranga was launched, the state government has estimated that there are around 8.5 lakh households in Tripura and accordingly initiative was taken to make Tirangas. This year as we launched the campaign again, we estimated over 9 lakh households. Necessary initiative was made to ensure adequate amount of Tirangas for the citizen of the state.”
Highlighting the development of the state CM Dr Saha said that the state has progressed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, “The state of Tripura is being praised across the country. During the G20 meet and later I received a praise for Tripura in the Niti Aayog meeting and in the Chief Minister’s conclave.”
“We are trying to present the state of Tripura as an ideal state in the country through the ongoing developmental progress in the state,” Dr Saha said, adding that the government is committed to moving the state forward by focusing on holistic development in key areas such as health, education, agriculture, and sports.
As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, a tricolor walk was organised, with enthusiastic participation from individuals of various professions, including government officials, students, and educators. Similar programmes are being conducted across different sub-divisions and districts in the state.
