Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Tuesday visited the Sepahijala district of the state and chaired a high-level meeting with the District Magistrate and other administrative officials of the district.
During the meeting the Governor directed the officials to take an initiative in enhancing the agricultural sector of the district. The governor advised the horticulture department officials to use scientific methods and adopt tissue culture methods to further promote pineapple cultivation.
He also suggested increasing cultivable lands in the district and increasing the income of the farmers. He asked the officials to increase the use of machinery to improve the handicraft industry and increase production.
During the meeting the Governor stressed on increasing drinking water and irrigation facilities. He said that drinking water connections should be delivered to every house within a certain period. He said awareness should be increased to prevent child marriage.
