Governor urges to carry out research on innovative seeds, inspects Agriculture Research Station

Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu paid a visit to the State Agriculture Research Station in Arundhatinagar, stressing the significance of advancing research efforts towards innovative seed varieties.

Upon arrival, Governor Reddy was warmly greeted by Uttam Saha, the Joint Director of the station, before engaging in discussions with officials on agricultural matters at the conference hall. A documentary highlighting the station's initiatives was screened, providing insights into its programs. Subsequently, Governor Reddy toured various facilities including the seed museum, demonstration cultivation areas, and specialized laboratories.

Addressing the press afterward, Governor Reddy underscored the pivotal role of research in national development, stating, "A nation's progress hinges on robust research endeavors. For our state to prosper, we must prioritize research to avoid stagnation. The longstanding service of this research center, spanning 70 years, underscores our commitment to fostering agricultural innovation. We have directed efforts towards developing new seed varieties to benefit farmers and enhance agricultural productivity."
