In a significant move towards the development of tribal-populated areas, Janajati Kalyan Minister Bikas Debbarma announced today that the government plans to establish a solar power plant in Kanchanpur. Emphasizing the government's commitment to the welfare of tribal communities, Debbarma highlighted the implementation of various central and state government projects in the sub-division during a review meeting held at the Kanchanpur Revenue Dak Bungalow.
The meeting, chaired by the Janajati Kalyan Minister, focused on assessing the progress of development programs in the Kanchanpur sub-division. Debbarma inquired about the initiatives undertaken by different departments such as Education, Health, Drinking Water, Works, Electricity, Forestry, Rural Development, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Fisheries. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the future work plan aimed at the comprehensive development of the sub-division.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Debbarma emphasized the government's efforts to provide essential services like drinking water and electricity to underserved towns in the state. He also highlighted the government's commitment to improving the quality of education and decentralizing health services. To address the lack of electricity access in certain areas of Kanchanpur sub-division, the government plans to leverage solar energy to provide electricity services. Furthermore, the construction of an exclusive model residential school was also announced for the subdivision.
The review meeting witnessed the participation of various stakeholders, including MDC Bidyut Debbarma, MDC Shailendra Nath, MDC Sapna Rani Das, BAC chairmen from different blocks in the subdivision, officers from the subdivision administration, and BDOs. This collaborative approach signifies the government's dedication to driving inclusive development and ensuring the upliftment of tribal communities in Kanchanpur.
'Electrification of railway network in NE set to be completed within a year'
