Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday inaugurated a two-day long photo exhibition here at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan as part of celebration of World Photography Day and urged the photojournalists of the state to upload images of different sites of Tripura in social media to attract more tourists in the state.
The Tripura Photo Journalists Association (TPJA) had organized the event with a theme – Tripura Tourism to mark the World Photography Day.
Addressing the inauguration programme, the Chief Minister said, “Tripura government is working relentlessly to develop tourism and grow the state’s economy.”
“A large number of tourists visited the state last year and most of them were foreign tourists among them,” he said, adding that pictures always speak and it needs no explanation. People can be appealed to through their photography, he said.
Agartala Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharya, Agartala Press Club secretary Ramakanta Dey, Tripura Photojournalists Association President Pralayajit Pal, Secretary Abhishek Saha and others were present in the inauguration programme.
