Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday attended the Bhoomi pujan programme for the establishment of 200-bedded integrated drug deaddiction centre at Bishramganj in Sepahijala district of the state and said that the government has adopted zero tolerance policy to build Nesha-Mukt Tripura.
Addressing the function, the Chief Minister Dr Saha said that the government is putting utmost effort to end the drug menace in the state. He said that the government is trying to keep the society free from drug addiction. But only administrative action is not enough in this work. People from different sections of the society should come forward to keep the society free from the deadly drug addiction, he added.
“The drug addiction rehabilitation Centre in Bishramganj will be the largest rehabilitation Centre in the state. It is not enough to just build such a modern Centre. Special efforts should also be taken to identify drug dealers to bring a success in the fight against drug,” Dr Saha said.
Meanwhile, the state transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury in his speech said that the rehabilitation Centres are being built with the aim of rehabilitating addicts and bringing them back to the mainstream of society and involving them in developmental work.
The Chief Minister on Monday also virtually laid the foundation stone of the new building of District Transport Office and Sepahijala Circuit House at Bishramganj. Moreover, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated Barkobari Road, Jampuijala Block Latiacherra High School and additional classrooms and boundary wall of Atal Bihari Vajpayee High School in Charilam.
