In a bid to boost tourism, the state has recently inaugurated 41 contemporary log huts, with plans for 10 additional log huts in the pipeline, announced Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury. The minister highlighted these developments during the Legislative Assembly's question and answer session, emphasizing the government's commitment to attracting visitors.
Chowdhury elaborated on the state's comprehensive initiatives, including the establishment of a weekend tourist hub in front of the Ujjayanta Palace, the introduction of a captivating light and sound show at the palace, and the year-round accessibility of the museum. Additionally, the minister disclosed the completion of a helipad at Narkelkunj, the launch of water scooters and jetski at Dumboor reservoir, and the initiation of paragliding services.
To further enhance the tourism experience, the State Institute of Hotel Management has been constructed, offering tourists top-notch facilities. The introduction of online booking services aims to streamline the reservation process for visitors. The Mata Tripurasundari Temple is also set for advanced development through the Prasad Project.
In a move to elevate key tourist destinations, Chowdhury revealed plans to beautify Unakoti, Chabimura, Kamalasagar, and Chaturdas Devata Mandir. The Asian Development Bank will provide financial support for these initiatives in the upcoming fiscal year (2022-23). Furthermore, the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 project has outlined various plans to enhance the appeal of Unakoti and Agartala destinations.
