Govt takes a multi-pronged plan for the welfare of farmers: ICA Minister

AGARTALA:

ICA Minister Sushanta Chowhdury has said that the government has taken a multi-pronged plan for the welfare of farmers in the state.

“The state government is providing various modern agricultural machinery to increase the income of the farmers. Apart from this, Farmer’s Knowledge Center is also being opened to acquire knowledge in the field of agriculture so that the farmers do not have to face any difficulty in producing the crops of their land”, said Chowdhury while inaugurating the Farmers' Knowledge Center in Majlishpur.

He said, now the administration is going to the people and people do not have to go to the administration.

He said a target has set up to open such knowledge centers in every block of the state.

58 lakh rupees have been spent on the construction of the newly constructed Farmer’s Knowledge Center funded by the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund.

He also said that farmers are the food providers of this country. So farmers need to be empowered. If the farmers are strong, the economy of the country or state will be strong.

“The State Government and the Central Government have been supporting the farmers through various schemes to make them economically self-reliant”, he said.
