Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das today said that the government has decided to open Fish Sale Counter at 25 places in the state so that people can buy fish at low price.
He said that these fish selling centers will be opened wherever there are superintendent fishery complexes in the state.
“Around 8 thousand kgs of fish of three to four types will be sold in these fish selling centers”, he said.
In the press conference today, the minister also said that he went to Delhi on October 11 and met the Union Minister of Fisheries, ARDD and said that during the meeting they discussed how to increase the fisheries production of the state.
“The discussion focused on how to renovate the Fishery Training Center at Udaipur and create a Regional Training Institution. The establishment of training institutions in this region will benefit the North East region. For this, a project of 50 crores and 8 lakh rupees has been placed before the Union Minister. A project of 11.9 crore rupees has been proposed to the Union Minister of Fisheries for increasing fish production. Besides, a project of Rs. 25 crore has been given to increase the production of fish in abandoned ponds in the state”, he said.
