Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday sought cooperation of the teachers and faculties in establishing the educational institutions of the state as ‘Centre of Excellence’. He said that the government is working sincerely towards rendering quality education for all.
Dr. Saha was speaking in the inauguration programme of year-long Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE) at Kunjaban.
He said, “Teachers should be more sincere in imparting quality education to the students as Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that those who have knowledge will have the whole world in their hands in the future.”
“A new national education policy has been prepared in the country so that the students can move forward with the traditional knowledge,” he said, adding that the state government is working on various plans including infrastructure development to provide quality education to the students.
He said, “Parents should give importance to students' trust in the school education system by reducing their dependence on private tuition. Besides studies, sports should also be given importance by the students.”
“Rs. 10 crores have been allocated in this year's budget for the development of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education. Tripura has many public and private educational institutions including colleges, universities, dental colleges and based on these, the state government is working to build an education hub in the state,” he said.
