The state transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday inaugurated the traditional Bhadra Mela here at Kamalasagar Kasbeshwari Kali temple and said that the government is putting utmost effort to make people more self-reliant through the development of tourism sector.
The minister said, “To make the Kamalasagar Kasbeshwari Kali temple and Mata Tripurasundari temple more attractive for the tourists of the state and abroad, government is spending Rs 18 Crore and Rs 40 crore respectively.”
The project for the development of both the temple and its surrounding is being implemented by the Tourism Development Corporation with the support of Asian Development Bank, he said.
The Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that peace and harmony between people of different religions and castes is being strengthened further through various fairs and festivals. He said, “If unity, solidarity and harmony are intact, the development of any place is accelerated. Therefore, peace and harmony must be maintained for the overall development of the state.”
MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, former chairman of the Khadi and Rural Development Board Rajib Bhattacharjee, MLA Sushanta Deb and others were present in the inauguration programme.
