Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Wednesday attended the Biannual Group Commanders Conference- 2024 held here at 21 Sector Assam Rifles in Agartala and interacted with the Officers and Cadets of NCC of Northeastern Region.
Addressing the event, the Governor said that NCC is not just a parade ground or an educational institution; it is also a larger platform to learn about Indian philosophy, culture, history, music, civilization and other subjects.
The Governor interacted with Major General Gagandeep, ADG of Assam Rifles and Group Commanders in this event held at the conference hall of Assam Rifles. The ADG briefed the Governor about the future plans of NCC in North Eastern region including Tripura through PowerPoint presentation.
On this occasion, the members of NCC from various colleges of the state performed interesting cultural programs.
The Governor highly appreciated the ADG and officers of various ranks of NCC for the various trainings of NCC.
Gagandeep, Additional Director General, North Eastern Region of NCC delivered the welcome address on the occasion. He said that there are currently 5,300 NCC cadets in 95 schools and colleges in the state. Among them, 2 thousand 500 girl cadets. Group commanders of NCC from North Eastern states participated in the conference.
