Union Home Minister and Minister for Cooperation Amit Shah is set to visit Tripura for a two-day trip, during which he will launch and inaugurate eight cooperative projects and schemes at the Cooperative Conference 2024.
The event is scheduled to take place on December 22 at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.
Addressing the media, Tripura Cooperative Minister Shukla Charan Noatia revealed that Shah’s visit will coincide with the 72nd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Regional Council, where he will preside as the Chairperson.
Highlighting the significance of the conference, Noatia mentioned that 2025 has been declared the International Year of Cooperatives by the United Nations, making the Cooperative Conference 2024 an important event for the state.
“A total of 18 stalls showcasing achievements in the cooperative sector will be set up to create public awareness. Union Minister Amit Shah will inspect these stalls and flag off two mobile vans—one Bharat Brand van from the National Co-operative Consumers’ Federation Ltd. (NCCF) and another Rural Mart van from NABARD,” Noatia said.
During the event, Shah will also distribute micro ATMs to 50 primary cooperative societies under the Tripura State Cooperative Bank.
Among the key inaugurations are a new petrol pump constructed by the Tripura State Cooperative Consumers Federation Ltd. (TSCCF) in Udaipur, Gomati District, a consumer store for the Kta Bru Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. in the Bru Settlement area of Hadukuluk, Dhalai District, the Daldoli Lamps Fertilizer Sales Center in Katlamara, Mohanpur subdivision, West District, a Smart Training Center under the Tripura State Cooperative Union in Arundhutinagar, Agartala.
Additionally, Shah will inaugurate the distribution of mini dal seeds through the National Co-operative Consumers' Federation Ltd. (NCCF). A MoU will also be signed between the National Co-operative Organics Federation (NCOF) and the Tripura State Organic Development Agency.
All these initiatives will be virtually inaugurated from the event venue. Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, MP Biplab Kumar Deb, Agartala Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, Union Ministry of Cooperatives Secretary Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, and Tripura Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha will join the Union Minister on stage for the occasion.
