Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday cautioned voters to distance themselves from the INDI alliance of CPIM and Congress, stating that both parties no longer have coherent policies.
“People should keep their distance and remain vigilant regarding the INDI alliance of CPIM and Congress. They lack clear policies. On the contrary, the BJP-led government is dedicated solely to the welfare of the people. One of the primary objectives of this government is the development of all sections of society, irrespective of caste or religion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is tirelessly working towards this goal," said Dr. Saha.
Dr. Saha said this while addressing an election campaign organized at Rishyamukh in South Tripura district on Tuesday, in support of the BJP nominee for the East Tripura constituency, Kriti Singh Debbarma, in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The Chief Minister also welcomed around 300 voters who defected from opposition parties to join the BJP, inspired by PM Modi's developmental vision.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of 370 seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections for the BJP. Additionally, the BJP is expected to secure more than 400 seats in conjunction with the NDA. Bearing this directive in mind, BJP officials are engaging with people across the country," he added.
Dr. Saha emphasized that in Tripura, BJP members are actively engaging in door-to-door campaigning.
"During these visits, we must convey to the people that we are here seeking their blessings on behalf of the Prime Minister. People have trust, affection, and respect for the Prime Minister. Under his leadership, the country has grown stronger, and socio-economic conditions have improved," remarked Dr. Saha.
Furthermore, Dr. Saha criticized the opposition, asserting that the INDI alliance was formed to safeguard their own interests.
"However, this alliance is crumbling over time. Opposition coalitions are faltering in various states. In Tripura, Congress has aligned with CPIM, conveniently forgetting the history of violence and terrorism. They justify their alliance as a necessity of the times," he noted.
The Chief Minister urged caution against such dubious alliances, stating, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi consistently prioritizes the interests of the common people. He is working towards inclusive development under the motto of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Viswas.' This government aims to progress alongside all sections of society. Tripura has greatly benefited from the Prime Minister's 'Act East' policy."
The election meeting was attended by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, BJP State Vice-President Subal Bhowmik, South Tripura District President Kakali Das Dutta, former MLA Shankar Roy, and other party leaders.
