Two days after the tragic Ulta Rath Yatra, ISKCON has said that they will provide all kinds of possible support to the deceased families and injured persons.
In a press release, ISKCON said on the occasion of Return (Ulto) Rathayatra at Kumarghat, Unakoti District of Tripura, the Chariot of Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhidra Maharani came in touch with high voltage electric wire and six people died on the spot and some more people died on the way to hospital or after reaching hospital.
“We are totally shocked and speechless for this undesirable incidence happened at Kumarghat and express our deep condolences on behalf of ISKCON Families for the departed souls. We also convey our deep compassion to their families for this unbearable loss. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modiji, also expressed his deep condolences on the incidence and announced Rs. 2.0 lakhs each to the deceased family and Rs. 50000.00 each to the injured persons for treatment purpose”, they said.
They further said that State Government of Tripura is also very concern on the situation and announced Rs. 4.0 lakhs each to deceased family, Rs. 2.5 lakhs to the severly injured persons and Rs. 74000.00 each to the less injured persons.
“Similarly, we are thankful to the State Government and Local Administration for their prompt action & support in managing the situation and providing support to the deceased families. Also express our thankfulness to the Health Administration for arranging the treatment services for the injured persons. We from ISKCON, ensure to provide all kinds of possible support to the deceased families and injured persons. We shall provide prasadam to the injured persons and their attendants during their treatment at AGMC & GBP Hospital at Agartala. We pray to Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra Maharani for keeping the departed souls under their lotus feet and speedy recovery of injured persons. I sincerely request all our devotees to show unity and support the deceased families. Also you can chant extra rounds and pray Lord Nrishimhadev for the deceased and speedy recovery of injured persons”, it reads.
