Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday surfaced allegations against CPIM-led Left Front and Congress for misguiding the government employees and pensioners ahead of assembly polls slated to be held on February 16 next.
Party’s state secretary Asmita Banik also claimed that the CPIM and Congress are campaigning with false promises and policies. They are targeting the government employees and teachers. As a whole, these two opposition parties are focusing to make people confused before assembly polls.
Addressing a press conference at BJP state election office here on Wednesday noon, Tripura Tea Development Corporation’s chairman Santosh Saha said that the government employees and teachers had been fighting for their rightful demands for a long time in this state and central pay scale is one of their main demands.
He said “The former MP and employees’ leader Dr Ajay Biswas led movement against the Left Front government for providing central pay scale benefits to the employees. Even the former Finance minister Badal Choudhury and the then Chief Secretary released a ‘White Paper’, and former MP Biswas had replied this as paper of ‘false document’.”
Citing the an exemplary instance, Saha said “The BJP made commitment to implement 7th Central Pay Commission for the government employees and teachers and accordingly, the decision has been initiated in the first cabinet meeting after formation of new government in 2018. At present, government employees and teachers are blessing this BJP-led government raising their two hands”.
“In case of Dearness Allowance (DA), LF’s manifesto claimed that they will provide DA for two times every year. But what percentage of DA will be given to them or will they fill up the arrears that are not being mentioned. The present BJP-led government has enriched the employees and provided different kinds of benefits along with DA despite of COVID-19 pandemic for two years out of five years tenure”, Saha told the reporters.
It is worthy to mention here that there are 2.60 lakh people attached with government comprising of 1.04 lakh employees and teachers, 80,600 pensioners, and 76,000 Anganwadi and ASHA workers. Saha urged them not to be misguided by the CPIM and Congress.
