After assurances from authorities to address their grievances, the blockade was lifted, easing traffic congestion. However, locals have issued a warning of escalating their protest if concrete measures are not taken promptly to resolve the electricity crisis in the area.
In a display of frustration over the persistent electricity woes in Kulubari, residents took to the streets today, blocking the Sonamura Boxanagar road to demand urgent action from authorities. The blockade, which commenced in the morning, brought traffic to a halt, causing significant inconvenience to commuters.
The local populace had been vocal about the inadequate electricity infrastructure for four days, urging authorities to take necessary steps to rectify the situation. Feeling neglected by the lack of response, residents resorted to road blockade as a last resort to draw attention to their plight.
Upon receiving reports of the blockade, law enforcement and administration officials swiftly mobilized to the scene. Dialogue ensued between officials and protesters, culminating in assurances from the administration to address the issues promptly. Satisfied with the promises made, locals agreed to end the blockade, allowing traffic to resume.
