A devastating fire broke out suddenly at the residence of Kamini Sarkar, father of police constable Dilip Sarkar, situated just four feet away from the boundary of Tripura University. The house was completely gutted in the blaze, reducing all belongings to ashes.
The house owner, Kamini Sarkar, did not reside in the premises. Instead, the property was rented to Bipasha Malla Sarkar, her husband Sukanta Sarkar, and their six-year-old son Aditya Sarkar. Tragically, they lost everything in the fire. Additionally, a newly purchased CNG auto belonging to the owner's younger brother, which was staying in the house, was completely burnt.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire spread rapidly, and the gas cylinder inside the house exploded, intensifying the blaze. The six-year-old child, Aditya Sarkar, sustained burn injuries on his legs in the fire. Though he and his mother received medical treatment and were later discharged from the hospital, they refrained from speaking to the media about the ordeal.
Shockingly, despite the intensity of the fire, the fire brigade arrived nearly 30 minutes after the incident, by which time everything had been reduced to rubble. Locals expressed frustration over the delayed response, which they believe could have helped minimize the damage.
The incident was narrated to the media by a neighbor of Dilip Sarkar and his nephew’s wife, who provided details of the horrifying episode.
