Tripura Wholesale Glossary Merchants Association organized a license camp on Friday. The day's camp was held at the commercial building of Maharajganja Bazar. Mayor Dipak Majumdar along with market traders were present in the camp.
Speaking at the camp organized by the Mayor, he highlighted the importance of license in doing business. In addition to this, the mayor told the businessmen today that those who do not comply with the government guidelines even after receiving the license, have the responsibility to do business in accordance with the rules because the traders are taking all the facilities of AMC and state Govt. So it is the responsibility of everyone to do business according to government guidelines. It has been observed that many traders are not paying dues properly.
“In Maharajganja market, still Rs 5 crore is pending which the traders have to pay. Notice will be given to those who are not clearing the dues”, he said.
The mayor then warned that strict action would be taken against them. But the Mayor expressed hope that if the government wants to develop the state, it must comply with the government conditions and cooperate with the Municipal Corporation. On this day, the mayor also warned some dishonest traders in the market.
He said those who are manipulating the weight with the buyers and keeping the price artificially high should be removed. The mayor urged to do business with transparency and honesty. The mayor also said that the government is determined to make the market a modern market.
