In a significant gathering at the Community Hall of Pratapgarh English Medium School, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar emphasized the continuous efforts by the state government to empower women and make them self-reliant. The occasion was marked by the 'Chai Pe Charcha' program organized by the Shakti Bandhan Mahila Self Help Group and NGO Women Shakti Bandhan, held under the 13 Pratapgarh Assembly.
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of West Bengal MLA Srirupa Mitra Chowdhury, Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, Sadar District BJP President Asim Bhattacharya, and other dignitaries.
Mayor Majumdar, addressing the audience, underscored the state government's commitment to women's empowerment, citing the Shakti Bandhan Mahila Self Help Group as a testament to these initiatives. He highlighted the government's focus on making women self-reliant and credited the growing success of such programs.
During his speech, Mayor Majumdar pointed out the substantial increase in supporting parties during the BJP government's tenure. While the Left Front government in Tripura had 5000 supporting parties, the BJP government has seen this number soar to over 50,000 in just five years.
