The state government has organized a spectacular carnival on October 26 to add to the joyous atmosphere in the city.
One of the key highlights of the preparations this year is the special initiative taken by Agartala Municipal Corporation to beautify the Dashami Ghat area where many idols from urban and suburban areas will be immersed. This initiative aims to ensure that the immersion process is carried out in an organized and disciplined manner, making it attractive to everyone.
Mayor Dipak Majumdar visited the Dashami Ghat area on Tuesday morning to inspect the preparatory work. He expressed satisfaction with the progress and emphasized that the idols would be decorated even more beautifully than in the previous year. The entire city, including the Dashami Ghat area, is being adorned with colorful lights, adding to the festive ambiance.
In an effort to clean the banks of the Howrah River, AMC has undertaken various activities. Mayor Dipak Majumdar highlighted that steps have been taken to construct paved stairs at places along the riverbank that were previously cluttered. Additionally, a special ramp has been arranged to facilitate the lowering of idols into the river.
Mayor Majumdar further stated that all preparations are in their final stages, and he expressed hope that the idols will be immersed with traditional fanfare, accompanied by the sound of conch shells and the cheers of thousands of visitors.
