Mayor Dipak Majumder said that scheduled to take place from January 20th to 21st, the two-day extravaganza promises intense sporting action and hefty cash prizes.
The winning team of this keenly anticipated volleyball competition will not only lay claim to a stunning trophy but also pocket a generous cash prize of thirty thousand rupees.
The runner-up won't be left empty-handed either, as they are set to receive a trophy along with a cash reward of twenty thousand rupees. The third-place team will secure a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 5, 000.
The competition is set to be inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Minister on the afternoon of January 20th.
Philanthropist and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya is also expected to grace the event with his presence, adding a touch of community spirit and support.
Corporator Alok Roy urged participating teams to register their names by January 17, ensuring a seamless organization of the event. Speaking at a press conference held at the ward office, Deepak Majumder, the convener of the tournament committee and Mayor of Agartala Pur Nigam, provided detailed insights into the upcoming competition.
The generous contributions of trophies and cash prizes are made possible by Mrinal Das, the privileged son of the late Geeta Rani Das, in whose memory the tournament is named.
