Minister assures of adequate fuel stock in Tripura

AGARTALA:

Amid the disruption in transportation of essential commodities through rail and road due to the cyclonic storm, the state food and civil supplies minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Thursday assured of sufficient stock of fuel in the state.

Responding to the unusual rush in petrol pumps across the state, the minister said, “There is no need to panic as the state has adequate stock of fuel for one week.”

“Due to natural calamities under the influence of Remal, there was some minor impact on the rail track in the Lumding area, disrupting the rail transport. Following this the railway division is working on this in a war footing manner,” minister said, adding that the situation will be normal very soon.

The minister further informed that he also spoke with the NFR General Manager and other officials who have assured that railway connectivity will be restored and trains will come again with fuel and other essential commodities.

He said that in addition to the fuel, the state also has an adequate stock of food and various daily necessities.
