AGARTALA:

As the BJP led coalition government in Tripura is committed to preserve and promote the linguistic diversity of the state of Tripura and its tribes, the state power minister Ratan Lal Nath on Saturday chaired a meeting with the representatives of the Reang community in solidarity with their demand for government recognition for their ‘Kau Bru’ language.

The Reang community demanded for the government's recognition of the ‘Kau Bru’ and also demanded to declare the Hojagiri Diwas as a state holiday.

In support of the demand, the minister on Saturday chaired a meeting here at Agartala TFDPC office conference hall, with the participation of the representatives of the Reang community and intellectuals.

He said, “The state government is committed to the development of all languages. I believe that the demands of the Reang people will be fulfilled.”
