The state SC welfare minister Sudhangshu Das on Thursday chaired a review meeting of the SC welfare department and said that the government is committed to work for the welfare of the people and students belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
During the meeting the minister asked the officials and employees of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department to take a leading role in properly conveying the benefits of the schemes and services undertaken by the Central and State Governments to the students and people of the Scheduled Caste community.
In the review meeting, the minister said that the benefit of the project undertaken for the welfare of the Scheduled Caste community should be implemented properly. Apart from the review of the schemes undertaken by the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department in the financial year 2024-25, the department should also give priority to the implementation of the action plan for the next financial year, he added.
The review meeting was held in the conference hall of the Directorate of Tribal Welfare department here at Agartala Gorkhabasti. Secretary Deepa D Nair, Director Jayanta Dey, Joint Director Bhaswar Bhattacharya, Deputy Director Pradip Reang and others were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, Secretary Deepa D Nair sought the cooperation of all stakeholders in implementing the projects and schemes of the department.
